“Throughout New York and the country, workers are increasingly being paid by payroll cards, but our state laws have not kept pace to ensure that their rights and hard earned wages are protected,” said Mario Cilento, President of the New York State AFL-CIO. “We commend Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman for developing legislation with comprehensive safeguards to ensure that workers can make an informed decision, have easy access to their pay, and are not subject to abusive fees.”
