Throughout all of the years that I have had the pleasure and privilege to operate the selectors booth at the barn (Smart Bar Chicago) on the occasion of Halloween, last night was my favorite of them all. Thank you to a lovely and energetic crowd that fearlessly stomped their feet to our selections as they occupied the bass filled atmosphere. But we must also not forget to acknowledge all the staff, hosts and security that kept our creepy freighter persevering through the night. And a special shout to Jacob Meehan and Harry Cross for inviting me to be a part of such a Savage evening. And by the way, you guys played fantastic as always and I look forward to having the opportunity to share that special sonic space with you again in the future. There was a moment that I teared up immediately after I dropped We Are Back by LFO. To watch the crowd come together in a dancing frenzy was beyond special. Mark Bell of LFO had recently passed away, and their Frequencies album produced in 1991 is one of the most influential works and was the blueprint for modern dance techno in my opinion. What a tune!
