Throughout my 20s, alongside humanitarian visits to Palestinian - TopicsExpress

Throughout my 20s, alongside humanitarian visits to Palestinian political prisoners held by Israel, I read practically every book out there on Israel-Palestine. From history, law, and politics to art, trauma, and culture, until I turned 29, there was hardly a book on the conflict that I hadnt read. As I approached 30, I gave almost every single book away. I realized that all it takes to recognize injustice and take action is simply to be human. Literature and convoluted theories can make a person well informed, seem impressive, and able to debate endlessly but they are not necessary. There are red lines in life and killing, injuring, and displacing people are just three of them. If youre following the war in Gaza and feeling helpless to do something beyond make a donation, try boycott, lobby your local parliamentarians and call for justice via the International Criminal Court. Dont waste your time arguing with people who are not willing or ready to understand and whatever you do, dont drown in despair and think that one person cant make a difference. You can. We can. One person at a time.
