#Throwback Novie was my block mate when we were freshmen. Sixteen years went by but I cannot forget we used to be the DevCom Block 029. However, she shifted to a different course during sophie years. When we were classmates, she was nobody but just another classmate. Just an ordinary classmate. Things gone haywire during our senior years. By then, I already had a girlfriend but me and Novie often see each other since we were in the same neighborhood in Kilbourne apartment. Besides, they were “boardmates” with 2 of my co-majors. I would be a hypocrite if am not gonna admit that I had a crush on her. Its already been more than a decade but I can never forget how cute she is with her eyeglasses on. I used to call her “bayot” at that time and she calls me likewise. Each time I spent with her was so worth-remembering. Novie often asked me how is my relationship with my girlfriend. I often asked her how is her love life. When I left the portals of Leyte State University, she was still in her senior years. I happened to be assigned in her neighboring town in Southern Leyte. While I was working in a local radio station, somebody told me that Novie needed some help. She was so depressed that she was not able to graduate because of her thesis. So there was I, I went to her place to console her. During that time, I don’t have a girlfriend anymore. Novie was so sweet when I saw her. I spent the whole day with her. That was the best time that I spent with her. I really would like to tell her that she plays an important part in my life. But my tongue was tied. I cant find the right word to say. A couple of years later. I was assigned in Samar and she was working somewhere in Cebu. I was actually able to tell her over the phone that I love her. She did not appreciate it though. She still called me “bayot” like she always do. She said I need to stop ringing her phone since she already had a boyfriend and her boyfriend was not happy that I drop message on her phone or call her. I saw Novie’s picture earlier in my FB’s newsfeed. She is still cute like the way she always is….. She is currently working now somewhere outside of our country. I really do hope that you would happy my dear… I really do bayot… - bayot
