Throwback Thursdays ! The Shark Valley Observation Tower is a great place to get a birds eye view over the Everglades, but did you know there are more towers out there? The original is Clingmans Dome Tower (1959) in Great Smoky Mountains NP, with Look Rock Tower and Shark Valley Tower coming a few years later part of the NPS Mission 66 initiative. Heres a few shots of the Shark Valley Tower being constructed in the early 1960s and one of the original. So how many of these towers have you been to?
