#ThrowbackThursday #2009 #u19 2009 U19 Junior World Championship, Canton, Ohio Player: Isaac Isaako Country: New Zealand Position: Offensive lineman Being part of the 2009 JWC was an out of this world experience. Being from a small country in comparison to those at the tournament opened up my eyes to how widespread the sport of American football actually is. What I enjoyed about the tournament most ofcourse was the football, not so much the games themselves but the players. At one of the dinners we sat seperately from our team mates at tables with a player from each country. It was amazing to see the varying years of experience between players and how they came into playing American football in their home countries. Hearing their stories really gave me an appreciation of the game and the opportunities it presents. It must also be said the visit to the NFL Hall of Fame was mind blowing. Seeing the histroy and the development of the game to where it is now, the superbowl rings, the life size sculptures of the inductees and just the overall atmosphere, they will forever be a memory i will never forget. I wish all the best to the future players that get the once in a lifetime chance to be part of such an event as the JWC.
