Thumper is on the mend. Hes acting depressed and really laying it on thick with the expressions. Just to be sure it wasnt something serious, I took off the cone and WOW miraculously he was his happy self again. LOL ;) But he has to wear it. You know how it goes. However, his Auntie Xe Natasha and his best friend/cousin, Jolene, drove up last night. My sis is going to watch him while Im at work so that he doesnt have to stay by himself away from the other dogs. There is no way hed stay calm and not play if I had them together. When he saw his Auntie, he was exceptionally happy. It really lifted his spirits. As to the surgery, the vet created a new wound basically in order to sew everything back up. He said everything looked good when he checked the wounds. He said Thumper was an excellent patient and a really great dog. The second pic is with the cold compress. Instructions were to do that every 8 hours for the first day and then switch to hot for a couple days. The area is looking great. Still dont know what caused it. A coworker has extremely sensitive skin and she said her skin rips in a triangle like that when she hits it against something. I did find a huge tree limb in the yard that had fallen and it has thorns. Perhaps that was the culprit? Not sure. When he runs around, he runs around like a maniac. Very high energy person.
