Thunderstorms rumbled through the Wiregrass this afternoon, and - TopicsExpress

Thunderstorms rumbled through the Wiregrass this afternoon, and one reached severe limits for a brief time, causing some damage in Wicksburg (see the storm report below). After those storms moved out, things got much quieter. Conditions were muggy, with a little bit of sunshine poking through the clouds. Well see those clouds stick around this evening, but quiet for the rest of the night. Lows tomorrow morning will bottom out near 70. Rain chances for the weekend arent looking as good as they did earlier this week, as we return to a more summerlike pattern. Our weather will be dominated by warm and muggy conditions, and sea breeze showers moving from south to north through the area. We will call for 20-30% chances of rain this weekend, mostly for the afternoon. So dont cancel any plans, just watch the sky closely and stay cool, because highs are getting back into the low 90s. Warm and muggy conditions dominate the start of our work week too. Both Monday and Tuesday will see an increase in temperatures, with most seeing the low 90s, but a few getting into the mid 90s. Rain chances will be suppressed by a strengthening high pressure ridge in the upper atmosphere. This is different from our previous forecasts where we had rain chances early in the week and drier air pushing in for the middle of the week. This just means the wet pattern takes over for Wednesday with decent chances of rain then, right around 30-40%. As always this could change so stay tuned. Everyone have a safe weekend, and think cool thoughts! If youd like to connect through Twitter with the 4Warn Weather Team, heres the info for you.
