Vision Inspire Future Excellence…Learn, Achieve, Succeed. TODAY’S NEWS! MEETINGS There will be a Student Council meeting today at 11:45 for all student council members in room 96. Please make sure you tell other student council members about the meeting. “I’ve Got a Better Idea” Challenge group for the Michigan Works Contest will meet 5th hour today in Room 202. DAY TO DAY INFO!! Any NHS student that can help with a benefit for Bailie Dunham’s Grandfather on January 23rd from 3:30-7:30 see Allie Legue to sign up for a 2 hr. shift. NHS will be hosting the first dance of the basketball season this Friday, January 17th after the Vassar/Reese basketball game. Cost is $3.00 and will run from the end of the game until 11:30 p.m. See you there!! If you would like to bring a guest to the dance, please pick up a dance request form in the office and turn it in by noon tomorrow. Attendance Make ups: Today from 3:25-4:25 in room 514. Today we will have another session for make ups 3:25-5:25. You must be there on time at 3:25 to serve your hour/hours. Attendance has been posted outside the HS Office. Your name will be on the list if you have missed 5 or more days, or have 3 or more tardies. Please make sure that you look at the total number for absences and tardies, this number is highlighted. You will have 6 opportunities for attendance make ups; the last day will be today from 3:25-5:25. Please check the postings throughout the hall or your school handbook for the explanation of absences and tardies, and when make-up dates are scheduled. You must bring work to do and no computers are available to work on. If you are seen not working you will be asked to leave and no credit will be given. The second deposit for the New York Trip is due tomorrow. You can pick up your balance slip from Mrs. Gokey between classes, before or after school. Please give your deposit to Mrs. Gokey by Friday. Attention Youth in Government Students: A few reminders - If youre interested in working the basketball concessions, see Brooke Rupprecht. Just a reminder that your final payment of $275.00 is due to Mr. Baker on Jan. 29th, three weeks from now, so plan accordingly. Read-throughs for the spring play Murder at Crooked House will take place in the auditorium on Tuesday, January 21st at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday, January 22nd at 3:30 p.m. See you there! Tryouts for the spring play will take place in the auditorium on Monday, January 27th at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday, January 29th at 3:30 p.m. You don’t need to be present at both tryouts to be given a part in the play. See Mr. Whitney to sign up. VARSITY Vassar: 46 Ubly: 43 The game was won on a 3 point basket by Mike Pratt with 1 second left. Scoring Leaders: Vassar was led by Tyler Humpert with 12 points. Lamont Morrison and Colton Fabbro each had 10. Rebounding Leaders: Lamont Morrison had 10 rebounds. Plus/Minus Leaders: Lamont Morrison had 4 deflections, 3 steals and 2 blocks; Blake Ruppal had 5 assists. JV Vassar: 42 Ubly: 37 Scoring Leaders: Evan Wilcox led Vassar with 12 points and Logan Amend had 11. Rebounding Leaders: Zach Shepherd led Vassar with 8 rebounds. Plus/Minus Leaders: Rob Atwood had 3 assists, 3 steals and 1 block; Logan Amend had 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 deflection.
