Thursday, January 8, 2015 Doug has had his stent placed - TopicsExpress

Thursday, January 8, 2015 Doug has had his stent placed internally today. This will stay until he doesnt need it any more and it will seal itself off. Dr. Amene said he had remained rock solid throughout the surgery. The plastic surgeon, Dr. Kenstra also did a small procedure to remove some dead skin from previous surgery and restructured that. So once again Doug has stitches in his head and a couple of new wound sights from the stent. It is amazing that God has given people the knowledge to develop and use such instruments of healing. He was less responsive this morning and they said it was probably due to the fluid. Since returning he has opened his eyes some and seemed to be able to focus slightly better. Swelling immediately goes down with the drain. You so want more and consistent responses from him, but they are just not there YET. He did not qualify for one of the acute care facilities here because of intermittent responses and needing to be restrained. I need all of you Prayer Warriors to pray that God would open the door to the one where he needs to be. It was disheartening to hear them say that, so you shed a few tears of frustration and then you get back on track. I know this is totally out of my power and control to change what is or what is to come. Its hard to be a person who wants to FIX everyone and everything!! Maybe that is something Im learning in this journey. Not sure I like long journeys anymore!! I want to thank each of you that has prayed, came by the hospital, given gifts and sent comments and text to uplift us each day. Those are like warm water washing over you with peace. I know that our peace only comes from God, but he is using each of you to reach out to us, seen or unseen with prayers. Our girls have been so strong and here beside us all the way. Also, our families have been here with us. It is comforting to have others beside you to share joys and disappointments. Specific Prayers Needed for Tomorrow: To know which acute care center we are to use More alertness and awareness for Doug Continued healing and pain control with new wounds John 14 :27. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. Philippians 1:6. And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you (Doug) will continue until the day of Jesus Christ, developing and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you (Doug) God has given us so many Scripture to hold on to each day. It is a Living Word, that meets and teaches us in every circumstance. My sister, Nelda, reminded me today that God did not bring Doug this far to leave him. It reminded me of all the times Doug sang that song. Hugs, love and prayers for each of you, Nadine
