We dated secretly for nearly a whole year in which she shared her culture and how important it was that she remain a virgin until marriage. I loved her as much as any teenager can & respected her culture so I was happy just to have her. Unfortunately her family found out about us and forbid her to see me anymore. We were left brokenhearted and she was sent away to the Islands for the remainder of our school years. I can honestly say I never got over her. My life here didnt go too good. I ended up getting into trouble a lot, and ended up serving time in prison for things Im not proud of, but have left behind me and started a new life. I am married, have 2 awesome kids and my own business now, but still feel empty inside and now I know why. By chance I met up with my first love again, I couldnt believe it was her, she looked even more beautiful today then ever before. Shes married also now, with children of her own, but I could tell there was something still there for both of us. All of this time had gone by and I felt it all come back. Weve been emailing each other and I have confessed that Ive never gotten over her and her the same for me. The thing is, of course is our families. We dont want to hurt them but in so we are hurting ourselves. Do we have a right to finally be happy and be together at the sake of hurting others? Has anyone been here before? Its driving me insane on what to do. Advice please.
