*** Thursday Thought Provoker *** “There are two types of education… One should teach us how to make a living, and the other how to live.” - John Adams I have really appreciated the simple truth of that quote from the First time I heard it. It begs reflection on just how balanced an Education we receive in life and while many suggest one is taught in School, the other taught at home - I dont believe its that simple. There are quite a few activities found in Educational settings which instill the qualities necessary to Live, just as there are opportunities to Learn how to make a Living outside of the classroom. With that said - this edition of On the Road with Steve Hartman presented one Awesome Example of How to Live ... and better yet, the Students Themselves conspired to pull it off on their own - thats the best part! Sometimes you sign on for a special cause or duty with the obligatory... yeah, yeah, sounds good... we gonna get pizza afterwards or something level of enthusiasm and commitment, only to have your doors blown off by what you REALLY experienced Doing the right thing. One young man here comments that you really cant imagine the exhilarating RUSH of making a Touchdown until youve done it for yourself. So True! To that I would add - You really cant imagine the RUSH or sometimes overwhelming, dare I say Life Altering emotion of doing something so special for someone else as demonstrated here just because! I dare someone to make fun of one participant showing some emotion himself in this clip. I for one believe there should be more emphasis placed on How to Live these days, however to a very large degree, thats up to us individually. We each get to decide everyday where our energy and priorities are focused - do yourself and others a favor and dont miss out on some of the most important opportunities! Yes indeed - Sometimes its the simple, random acts of kindness that can knock the breath and emotion right out of you! Live Consciously - Love Unconditionally - Be A Part of the Positive Revolution.
