:/ Thursday Tumultuous Thoughts & Reflection(s) :/ Not long after my Tuesday Post it was time to Visit Lillys Oncologist - neither of us really wanted to go. In just one week Lillys Blood Test Results Bottomed Out - a phrase used to describe something that cannot get much worse. Her Platelets alone dropped 50%. With Limited Options and even more limited Finances we agreed to STOP her Treatments at this point. Dr. Proulx and the entire Staff rallied to offer me / us as much support as possible as I entered the consultation room where this journey began almost two years ago. Dr. P suggested a possible time frame which I dont have the will to type out in this message and as always everything is punctuated with . . . Its Cancer, and Lymphoma at that, theres no way to tell how long she has, shes NOT in any pain and still shows interest and signs of happiness and quality of Life.... They will help me keep tabs and not allow me to hold on too long for selfish reasons. We all know of cases where people of substantial financial wealth have had their lives rocked by this horrible disease, and theyve proven over and over that at some point - no amount of Money will buy you health or extra days :-( I have Prayed, Begged and Pleaded with the Lord to allow me to take her place (and that offer is STILL ON THE TABLE in case Our Creator FBs and didnt get my many prayers & messages) but we also know Im not the First or Last Person to Cry that offer out in Pain and Vain :( You can see the impact of the low Platelets on her underbelly, no matter how bad she feels, snuggling up with one of my articles of clothing seems to comfort her and this afternoon she enjoyed the post rain freshness, sunset and EVEN chased a Coyote off although admittedly her Bark betrayed her actual energy level. There are a couple of possibilities, my heart is a wreck to say the VERY least. Christmas has always held its challenges in my life, however it IS a Time of Miracles and Joy - So Please Join me in seeking Peace on Earth and in our Hearts, Lily would want that too
