Tickets for Rush in Philadelphia go on sale in six days. Ive never seen them live; their public statements say this will be the last tour of this magnitude - and now is always better than later when none of us really know where we will be tomorrow. So Karen and I are getting energized thinking about being there. But I was watching the video of their last tour ( https://youtube/watch?v=JVkb7ulSnjA) and had thoughts of Judas Priest that I saw last October 15. Look at the energy these people - all of them - have to produce to pull this off. They have 40 dates. We get exited for three months in anticipation for one night - they have to KEEP that energy level every couple of days for the better part of a year. I salute all these bands on tour; men in their 60s, still throwing all that energy into a performance for us. Sure, we are jealous of their money....but what we are really jealous of is something few of us have any grounds to understand at all - Being THAT passionate (and that good) about anything in our lives that we could participate in something that required that much of our energy, precision, focus, and committment for so long....all of it away from home....
