Tika’s tale Scripture The people who believe that Jesus is the Messiah are God’s children. 1 John 5:1 Meditation In Nepal—where less than two percent of the population is devoted to Christianity—Nepali Hindus live as exiles, isolated from the world and living in extreme poverty in refugee camps. It is to these poorest of the poor that the Bible is having the greatest impact. Tika’s life was changed when she began to study the Bible and draw close to the Lord. “Jesus is the living God, and he has forgiven my sins. Exiled from my own country, I had no hope to offer my children. The scars are deep, but through Christ I find healing. I now have answers to give to my children and I can guide them to the only hope they can have—hope for a future and eternal life with a heavenly Father.” Because Tika is now a child of God, she can give His love to her children. It’s a wonderful extension of the truth of today’s verse. All who trust in the Lord become His son or daughter. It’s amazing—and made possible in faraway places like Nepal because the Bible is made available to them in their language. Give thanks for Tika’s tale, and pray for others like her to accept Christ. Prayer God, I praise You that Your Word is powerful, living, and active. It continually changes my heart, and it brings Your hope to others. Thank You for the Bible! Amen.
