Tim Burton is known for films which are on a grand canvas, and when he decides to do something simpler, character driven, all we can expect is, greatness. Big Eyes starring Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz, The film revolves around the lives of artists Margaret (Amy Adams) and Walter Keane (Christoph Waltz). Walter became famous in the 1950s and 60s for paintings featuring saucer-eyed kids, but it was the shy Margaret who really did the work. Walter’s fraud eventually led to a divorce and a heated court battle to prove authorship of the paintings. The first trailer looks incredible, Amy Adams seems to have delivered an outstanding performance and Waltz is at his usual best. The film will go wide on Christmas this year, hopefully putting itself in the Oscar race.
