Tim emailed--Hello, My name is Timothy Wysong. I was injured in afghanistan in 2009. I have been through more surgeries trying to save my leg, then i can count. Anyway its going on 5 years this summer and it keeps getting worse. I had seen my Dr. at walter reed in late April last year and gave me two options one was amputation and the other was a brace. Well ive been waiting almost a year for this brace, and my leg keeps getting worse. Anyway at this point im considering going ahead and getting the amputation done. I was just wondering what were some of the pros and cons of having a lower leg amputation. Some daily challenges and stuff like that? Thank you so much. This is definately not an easy decision. Im just tired of being in pain every day. I am completely miserable on a daily basis. So any help and advice on daily living with a prosthetic would be greatly appreciated. Again thank you
