Time flies! Today is my Everybody Loves Raymond theme litters 9th birthday. I talked to my Ray about it in the kitchen just this morning as it cant possibly be 9 years ago that this special litter came in to my life. It cant be that many years ago all nine babies came home with me after a dicey and very botched up emergency c-section. For the first half hour of their lives we feared none would ever take their first breaths and become the healthy youngsters they would be. Slowly, some taking more than 40 minutes of working on them, finally came around and eventually we left the clinic with 6 beautiful girls and 3 handsome boys along with their very compromised mama dog, Melody. This was a nightmare labor, delivery and first few days of a litter Ill never forget or possibly, still wont be able to forgive the vet who tortured all of us during it. When it was finally all over this litter could be rated in my heart as my most spectacular American bench bred litter ever. Feeling pretty grateful today for these wonderful dogs and their incredible families that love them. Happy Birthday to Raymond ~ the boy that won my heart from the first I saw his little half of a mustashe ~ even though I only wanted a girl from this breeding :-) and to my Madylin, the tender hearted girl that brought us up to accept that all springers dont have to look alike, could be deserving of love just the same and nutured Tula, our ultimate springer wanna be Frenchie, and also a special message to Frankie, Robert (Gordy), Debra (Piper), Marie (Ebony), Doris (another Piper), Patricia (Tess) and Amy (Libby) ~ hoping your day is perfect and your families all give you a special snuggles, especially one from their Gma Mary
