Time for a brief trip back into recent history…to just a few years ago. It was 2009 when the brilliant conservative thinker, Charles Krauthammer, laid down the hammer in his 2009 article titled Decline is a Choice, where he predicts what would happen to Americas global influence with president Obama at the helm, a man who did not believe in American exceptionalism and who would sail this great ship and the world into a place of conflict and chaos. As only the Hammer Man can, he nailed it with his acute vision...one that we would soon all bear witness too...that this president would be taking us down the road of Decline by Choice...and that choice was his responsibility and his responsibility alone with the exception of those who elected him who bear much of the blame for their failure to see the warning signs and who voted for a mystical figure...a man whose character of Godly proportions was created by a complicit media who also bears much responsibility. The prediction that we would become a nation in decline under this president was outlined some 5 years ago when Krauthammer iterated the position...one that most of us rational thinking conservatives were aligned with...but of course liberals and the liberal media ignored the obvious and covered for this pro decline president and so we now find ourselves where we are today...a nation in decline! Fast forward to yesterday when the Hammer Man” resurrected this article and added the subtitle, “The New Liberalism and the end of American ascendancy. This great piece should be read by all, especially those who still believe in the feckless foreign policy of this declining presidency that has created a vacuum for jihadists, dictators and tyrants to seize upon. Now Krauthammer’s dire predictions are even more relevant as the result of Obamas destructive policies that have now become a reality, being visible to all who are willing to open their eyes. But Krauthammer goes one step further as he now indicts not only Obama for his failure to believe in American Exceptionalism and being responsible for the decline of power of this great nation throughout the world, but now he goes beyond his initial premise and indicts New Liberalism” which promotes their corrosive theory that it is not just that power corrupts, it is that America itself is corrupt. Now that five years have passed the devastating consequences of Obamas policies are evident and the foresight of Krauthammer and the predictions of the conservative community that under Obama we can see the decline of American power as a result of Obamas philosophy that we are not an exceptional country. Never in the history of our nation has a president had such a demeaning perspective of this great nation, and such a willingness to dismiss its greatness. We cannot say we were not warned...we got a real taste of Obamas un-American beliefs during his 2008 campaign, but nothing was more eye opening than what was to follow early on in his presidency with his Apology Tour when he indicted this great nation in the court of world opinion for the crime of exceptionalism. During this shameless tour Obama drew the picture of an America quite exceptional--exceptional in moral culpability and heavy-handedness, exceptional in guilt for its treatment of other nations and peoples. Who could forget those chilling words when Obama told the French that America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive toward Europe. In Prague, he said America has a moral responsibility to act on arms control because only the U.S. had used a nuclear weapon. In London, he said that decisions about the world financial system were no longer made by just Roosevelt and Churchill sitting in a room with a brandy -- as if that were a bad thing...and then Press Secretary Gibbs professed that by confessing our nations sins that Obama has changed the image of America around the world and made the U.S. safer and stronger....do you still feel that way Mr. Gibbs? In the eyes of Obama he sees us as a corrupt nation and under his leadership he has forced the decline of this nation for being guilty of exceptionalism....a concept that has a negative connotation in the mind to this unexceptional president! weeklystandard/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/017/056lfnpr.asp
