Time for a confession I know how much all of you enjoy seeing all - TopicsExpress

Time for a confession I know how much all of you enjoy seeing all the cute faces of kittens that I post on Facebook looking for homes. And believe me, it is such a pleasure to write about them and show the irresistible little kittens that find homes. I am so dedicated to them and to keeping a very positive and uplifted spirit when I present them to each of you in hopes of finding every single one a perfect home. But there is so much that goes on behind the scenes and the postings that you do not see. So it is time that I share with you what really happens at RESQCATS and all that it takes to heal their bodies and souls before you admire and fall in love with the photos and stories. What I don’t show you are the undernourished moms who enter our doors with barely enough energy to feed their babies. Moms are emaciated, tired and weak. Their kittens are often abnormally small for their age and malnourished due to their mom’s condition. I don’t post photos of kittens with horrific infected eyes that would be unbearable for you to see. Instead, our volunteers and fosters work hard and getting them healthy by providing all the medical care they could possible need. As in the case of Winkin and Blinkin… it would be insensitive on my part to post photos of how they looked when they arrived when we were not even sure we could save them. Only when they were sure to remain on this Earth did I share any photos of them on our page. And you must admit, that even with their eyes surgically removed…they WERE and ARE beautiful. I don’t share all that it takes to get anemic, flea ridden kittens that are dying and have to be tube fed until they have the strength to start to eat on their own. I have no time to write about all the time, love, patience and care we give to them which is also part of healing. Those kind of photos and the horrid details are just not for all to see…What you do see, enjoy and comment on are the end results of what all that RESQCATS does to save so many. I wait until they are up to a point that they are healthy and happy and we can rejoice in their saved lives. I share this with you because RESQCATS needs your support now! The adoption fee for each cat or kitten does not begin to cover the expenses for all the challenges we face with so many of the moms and litters of kittens. RESQCATS does not and has never made a decision on life or death based on finances…we just do whatever we have to do to make it happen for each and every one. I mean that most sincerely. We are constantly trying to come up with creative ways to raise funds: our booths at The Montecito Pet Shop have been successful. Our new Etsy Store is getting off to a slow start, but that is because we are so busy taking care of all the kitties…and isn’t that what is most important! Yes, of course. But sometimes, I feel it is just best to be honest and share that we need your help. If each of our followers made even a small donation….it will all add up to do something really big…like saving lives of innocent cats and kittens. That is my confession….And my commitment is to the animals and to you as I continue to post and share only the end results. RESQCATS still has many kittens in our care and we really need your support. We try to make it easy…there is a PayPal button on the RESQCATS Facebook page and on our website at : RESQCATS.org. And of course, we still take money the old-fashioned way. Checks can be made out and mailed to RESQCATS, PO Box 3852, Santa Barbara, CA 93130. Most sincerely and from my heart, Jeffyne
