Time for a feel good post. When it became more than obvious that the concessionaires were not going to purchase stock or reimburse me for my small purchases, I felt I had to do something to keep the business viable. So, I went though my things. A lot of what has been brought to the store are things I purchased, but never used. Or used only a couple of times. People dont care - they love my prices and I have always taken great care of my items. But the biggest and most unexpected thing that has happened through all of this is watching people find a treasure - and how very, very excited they get. The most recent happening is one I would like to share with you. In 2001 Chevron started making collectable Breast Cancer awarness cars. I collected three of them. 2001. 2002 & 2003. I came across 2003 the other day and thought why not and brought it to the store. A gal came in and saw it and flipped. Her sister died of breast cancer in 2003 and she and her family celebrate her birthday - she would have been 46 this year - she was very young. I hadnt priced it and asked her to make me an offer, which she did and I accepted. She was so happy that she was on the verge of tears. Well, it also turns out that this woman and her family have strong ties in the country music industry and this song was written for this gals sister:
