Time for a website update. The Rebuild Christchurch website is undergoing many changes in the back-end to make it more user friendly, searchable and relevant to you. This is all to make it a platform owned by our communities to help us as a community and the authorities to better communicate and inform over the next 4 - 5 years or more of the rebuild. Currently there are many ways in which you can contribute and share your thoughts, facts, story, business, network or vision. In order to get access to most user features you need to create a free user profile by following this link: rebuildchristchurch.co.nz/register The first thing you can then do is submit an article which can be on any topic relating to the rebuild or general Christchurch. We only ask that you not share personal information or personally attack people. You can submit these articles of interest here: rebuildchristchurch.co.nz/submit-blog The second thing you can do is if you have a non profit network, organisation or a blog or anything of the sort you can create a network which will go in this section of the website: rebuildchristchurch.co.nz/Networks/Home To add your network for free you can do that here: rebuildchristchurch.co.nz/networks/add The great thing about this is when you add an article as in the step above to the site you can also choose to have it linked to your network. The third thing you can do is if you have a business in Christchurch and you want to list it in the Rebuild Christchurch directory you can do this once you have made a general site profile. The business network is at this link: rebuildchristchurch.co.nz/Business/Home To set up a free business listing once logged in follow this link: rebuildchristchurch.co.nz/business/add Once you have set your business listing up you can then submit a news article from your business updating us all on what you are up to or what awesome things you are doing. To do that once you have set your business profile up go to your business listing which you can find by going to your site profile page and click add a business news. There are a couple of other things you can do on the site and we have decided to not require you to have a site profile to contribute to these because privacy and anonymity may be important for some people to share: The first is "Your Story" This is where you can share your story of how you have got through or something that happened and what you did to make it better. We all are facing similar situations and there are small nuggets of information that will help us to get though. To share your experience and learnings please go here and also read others: rebuildchristchurch.co.nz/Your-Story/Home The second is "Eastern Vision" This is where you can share your vision of the east. What you want to see done. Collective voice is powerful. We have made this info open source so anyone can have access to the data. To have a look at the hundreds of submissions and add your own go here: rebuildchristchurch.co.nz/Eastern-Visions/Home Lastly have a look at the residential section of the site. Everything on the site gets logged to its respective suburb. It is under redevelopment in order to make the information more up to date and also be able to let the communities own it by turning the pages into wiki type logs as the info is hard to keep updates from here. Have a look by following this link: rebuildchristchurch.co.nz/Residential/Home Again this is your website to show Christchurch, New Zealand and the world what we have been through, what we are going through and what we aspire to be. We get over 300,000 hits on the site each month and we want to now engage more with those visitors to ensure that we are heard. Please do share this through your networks and engage and look out for the new look site with all new branding that will we hope make this a real one stop collective hub for Christchurch in its rebirth. Have a look at the new Facebook header image for a wee peak at the type of thing we are working towards. Thank you everyone and lets look forward to a really exciting and collectively productive time for us all where we all strive to help those who need it and to build that in which we need.
