Time for another help me diagnose my issues post Bought a wagon in melbourne, drove it 400kms and it was all good. mate was driving and he was like oh wtf looked down, his foot was flat on the floor and it was dropping in revs, so i told him to pull over. I jumped in and took off, seemed alright for a bit then started spluttering and it wouldnt rev over 3200. pulled over, made a few calls and was advised to clean the fuel filter. Did that, same thing happened again 10km down the road. This happened for like 100km before i called it quits and got a mate with a trailer to come to the rescue. changed the coil and ran it with and without a different resistor, changed fuel filter, cleaned and gapped points, blew air thru the fuel lines to clear any blockages, swapped leads on pistons 1 and 6 to make it backfire thru the carby to clean the jets and we ran it off just the extractors to eliminate the possibility of it being a blocked muffler - still ran and drove like a bag of dicks Heads been recod recently, 479,xxx on the clock (yes, you read that correctly) Before i left the car behind ( 6hrs from home) i changed the spark plugs but didnt get a chance to drive it. The old plugs on cylinders 1 and 4 had presence of oil on them, which would indicate rings or valves need replacing right? What silly thing have we been overlooking?
