Time spent for others is never time wasted. If youve ever been - TopicsExpress

Time spent for others is never time wasted. If youve ever been down and out, you have first-hand experience in what that feels like. It sucks. Its kinda like when the Cardinals lose game six, only the Cardinals are your heart and game six is your connection to the social world. Im sure weve all been there. When we get to these darker places, we must take control immediately. I encourage you to reach out for help if youre feeling down. When your brain tells you to stay in and sleep, go out and surround yourself with friends. When your body tells you to scarf down a tub of ice cream, go out and take a walk. And when your heart tells you that youre alone, youve got to talk to the ones you hold close to you and let them know what is going on. Your problems are not selfish, they are not ridiculous, and they are not stupid. They are worth the time and they are real. It is our responsibility as people to look after those who need a little extra help. What have you done today to make someone else feel better about themselves? A warm smile, a helping hand, or a Hows it going? can be enough to help someone out of those rough days. Lord knows we hate it when were down, and there is no better remedy to everyday depression than an ear that is there to listen. We must be proactive in helping others just as others must be proactive in seeking help. There is something to be learned from helping others. In doing so, you gain a more worldy view on people. You get to examine the wires that connect the various parts of the brain and find out why some people lose sleep at night. Not only can you apply what you learned to your own life, but you gain a sense of euphoria from knowing that you are appreciated. And therein lies the most important message: never let your appreciation for someone else remain unspoken. Never miss an opportunity to say thank you. I think it is the I want to helps and the thank yous that keep the world turning. It is through these attitudes that we can feel better about ourselves and help everyone else feel better, too.
