Time to boycott General Mills products. Theyre closing a plant in Massachusetts immediately and the plant here in Lodi, Calif. some time in 2015. The Lodi plant has been here since 1947. Now, some greedy CEO has decided to throw over 600 people out of work because their profits arent big enough. Okay. So, lets take away ALL of their profits. The plant in Massachusetts isnt a union plant; so, those approx. 150 workers are out on the street asap. The Lodi plant is union; so, the closure is only a preliminary decision to put over 400 people out of work. As many of the workers make over $20 an hour + benefits, it sounds like the CEOs of General Mills are out to bust a union and do away with more of the middle class. Well, most of those greedy CEOs do belong to the party of stupid. Lodi has been a Republican stronghold for over 50 years. Maybe this kick in the gut will wake some of them up; but, Im betting theyll blame it all on the black guy living in the White House. The good people of Lodi didnt utter much complaint when 241 teachers were laid off here during the governator Schwarzeneggers reign. Absentee voting begins here in a couple of weeks. Im betting this town still votes the straight RED ticket.
