Time to get [motivated]! The lovely Loren is just finishing up Coach Training so make sure to look for her classes in November!! Dont let her sweet demeanor fool you - she will push you to the limit with a big smile on! When I signed up for my first [solidcore] class last November, I never imagined what an impact it would make on my life. I was in a total fitness rut. My personal trainer had just moved, I was nursing a knee injury, and really struggling to find the motivation to squeeze exercise into my jam-packed schedule. I heard about [solidcore] through a friend and decided to give it a shot. I am SO [GRATEFUL] I did. From the minute I walked through the studio doors it was clear that [solidcore] was something special. Everyone was energetic and welcoming, and I immediately felt like I was part of the team. 50 minutes of lunging, planking, and sweating later, I was hooked. It was such a relief to have a workout that I actually WANTED to do. An intense 50 minute full-body workout was exactly what I didn’t know I needed – I have a 6 year old and I’m a full-time nutrition student, so time is super-scarce. And [solidcore] is so insanely challenging that each class leaves me eager to come back to see how much farther I can push myself the next time. I love that it’s not just a physical challenge, it’s a mental one too. The ability to set and achieve goals in the studio has clearly translated to my life outside of it. I feel more confident, self-aware, and capable – even my friends and family have noticed! I’m definitely seeing changes in my body, too. I’m so much stronger than I used to be and I have muscles in places I didn’t even know existed (hello, inner thighs!). I just love my body so much more than I ever did before. I’ve struggled with my body image for almost as long as I can remember, and one of the major “flaws” I spent so much time and energy worrying about was my muscular build. But now I LOVE how strong I feel and I LOVE that those muscles allow me to dig a little deeper every class. It’s those muscles that let me sit one inch lower in runner’s lunge or bang out a few more walk-the-planks when my brain is screaming for me to quit. In addition to feeling strong and happy with my body, I’m also healthier. I have Type 1 diabetes and my blood sugar levels have improved drastically this past year - they’re actually under the range for a diabetes diagnosis now. Type 1 is an autoimmune disease, and I’ll have it for the rest of my life, but this workout (along with a healthy diet) helps keep it controlled. The workout and its results are incredible, but what’s truly amazing about [solidcore] is the community. Each and every coach and client is so inspiring. I look forward to class – it’s often the best part of my day. I get to hang out with awesome people and we work together as a team to be our happiest, strongest selves. I don’t think it gets much better than that. I love the community so much that I decided to get more involved by training to become a coach. I’m loving it so far, and I cannot wait to share motivation, support, lunges, lizards, and lots and lots of love (and sweat) with the rest of the community!
