Time to let it go By Shelton D Dillon Scripture: Ecclesiastes 3:6 ESV A time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; When a loved one dies its devastating. All we have are memories of them. Life all of a sudden does not feel the same. You stare at their bedroom expecting them to return but this is no longet possible. You stare at their clothes hoping to see them worn by the deceased but nope nothing. Whats one of the most hurtful parts of losing them is the smell. The scent of their perspiration somehow seems to linger in the atmosphere for a while even after death. No matter how long we stare at their body laying there in the casket, the lid must eventually close. We must let them go. Similarly in life, we carry around all sort of baggge thats weighs us down. It has us constantly greiving. What purpose is it really serving us to be toting around such dead weight? All it does is that it make us unpleasant, short tempered, it blinds us to GODS best. Nothing good comes from toting the dead. GOD is saying to us Let it go ! ! ! Its time to place all things that have held us back for all these years in the coffin. And close the lid. Unforgiveness, poverty, sin, self pity, unhealthy relationships, alchohol abuse, smoking, and anything else that the Holy Spirit is leading you to give up. Put them all in the casket and let them go. Prayer : Heavenly Father, we come to you seeking forgiveness and to forgive. We place all things we have let go into your hands. We close all doorways that we have opened and seal it with the blood of Jesus. Replace these gaps in our life with your love and with GODLY traits. Help us Lord Jesus. We need your help. Without you we are nothing. We thank you for what you have done and for what you are yet to do in our lives. In Jesus name. Your will be done. Amen
