Time to start the cooking for our Thanksgiving get together tomorrow at Laura and Mikes. Homemade cranberry sauce.....done. None of that canned stuff for me! I tried a new recipe with cranberry/ raspberry juice and lemon juice and it is the best Ive ever had. Well, thats if you like cranberry sauce. Now on to the pies - buttermilk chess pie and sweet potato pie. But....store bought pie crust. Oh, the shame of it all. I just cannot make a decent pie crust to save my life. Or maybe its just that I cant help but compare it to my Moms - the best you would ever have - made with lard, from pig fat from my Dads many meat cutting side jobs. But then tomorrow morning, my best creation......sweet potato casserole. Cant tell I love to cook, can you? :)
