Timely Warning of Suspicious Circumstances at Bakersfield College Arvin Instructional Site - Check your Bakersfield College email for full information. On Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at approximately 5:20 p.m., a Bakersfield College faculty member teaching at the Arvin instructional site reported being followed by another vehicle as she left the parking lot. According to the faculty member, the suspect vehicle would quickly pull up to the rear bumper of her vehicle as though to push her car off the road. The suspect was also swerving across the road and forced the faculty member to take evasive action to avoid a collision. SUSPECT: Suspect description unknown. Suspect was driving a small white car, similar in shape to a late model Toyota Prius, but with a square back end. Suspect was holding a cardboard image of a Muslim woman wearing a blue headscarf, and cannot be identified. WHY ARE WE REPORTING: Although the faculty member reporting the incident has just come forward with information, Bakersfield College must assume an ongoing threat is present. As the suspect in this Suspicious Circumstances has not been located and questioned, Bakersfield College, under the requirements of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998, is warning students and employees of possible dangerous conditions on or near its campuses, or of possible injury at the hand of some third party or parties.
