Timing: A Lesson from Abraham Another point about receiving God’s favor is about timing. You must realize that God keeps you in the dark to wait patiently because being at the right place at the right time is extremely important for you to access the benefits of divine favor. Now, here is the issue that always becomes a stumbling point: while I am waiting, should I start thinking about it, calculating, trying to understand so that I can facilitate this divine favor? Or do I place myself in the position of the quiet mind? Let me tell you that every moment spend trying to figure out God’s will is another swing of an ax cutting down your tree. It is critical that you walk forward in faith just as your father Abraham did. “Abraham went forth and knew not whither he was going” (Hebrews 11:8). It is this day-to-day obedience and listening to God’s perfect will that is the secret to being at the right place at the right time.
