Tims Aunt Dean went home to be with The Lord this week. She faithfully served Him and her family until she was called home in her late 80s. Last night I received word that a sister-in-Christs husband, who was a pastor, went home to be with The Lord. Immediately you rejoice with for the one who has gone before to a place so wonderful that it is impossible to image. You rejoice that they have entered into His presence;the presence of the One who loves you so much that He gave His life for you. How many of us now know and experience this type of bond with anyone else? Its the bond of a relationship bond in love and commitment....in security. They now are in the presence of God Himself!! The God of holiness, love and peace. My heart grieves as I have come to know loss and what it brings. The whirlwind of the next few months followed by the slow transition of life without the loved one and then the adjustment to accepting life as it is now... They are no longer a part of your daily life, decisions, struggles and victories. And yet, they are. As I contemplate doing something I remember how Tim would have handled things or what my dad would have said to me and this encourages me to go on doing as I should. This must have something to do with having a cloud of witnesses; witnesses to the faithfulness of God, witnesses to continue in the faith. When Im tired and wore there are many different voices that talk to me. I can even get to the point of mental surrender... BUT then the voice of truth speaks!! Praise God for the Spirit who lives in us and the work He does in us! Casting Crowns song The Voice of Truth nails it! But the voice of truth tells me a different story The voice of truth says, Do not be afraid! And the voice of truth says, This is for My glory Out of all the voices calling out to me I would choose to listen and believe the voice of truth. The truth is God warns us that we are in a spiritual battle every day. The truth is God tells us we WILL have tribulation. The truth is that our reward will be in heaven. The truth is the He will not give us more than we can bear. The truth is the He promises peace that surpasses understanding in the midst of our trials. The truth is we can live joyful peaceful lives despite what circumstances we are in. We just have to chose to believe; Believe the God of your future salvation is the God of your salvation today.
