Tip of the week: Cleaning Dirty Walls Start off with a clean - TopicsExpress

Tip of the week: Cleaning Dirty Walls Start off with a clean cloth or sponge and water. If that does not work, dip the rag or sponge into water mixed with a little dish washing liquid. Use a milder soap to help prevent paint stripping. Also avoid apply pressure to any paint that feels like it could have an air bubble under it to prevent chipping.. If the stain persists apply a few drops of soap directly onto a wet sponge or cloth and wipe in one direction. For very stubborn stains apply the soap directly to the stain, but do not apply too much pressure that you might strip paint. If the stain is still not going away try a stronger product like Fantastik or Formula 409, but be warned these have strong solvents in them and can soften the paint surface and even cause the paint to strip. Make sure once you get rid of the stain that you rinse the wall afterward with plain water. If you can’t get rid of the stain give the experts at Sullivan’s Cleaning & Restoration a call.
