Tip of the week! Tekin escs have a few unique brake settings, lets go over them. Brake Strength is pretty straight forward. The higher it is, the stronger your push brake setting is. Drag Brake is also pretty straight forward. The higher this is, the more drag brake your car/truck will have. Active Brake however seems to confuse some people. I often refer to this as a panic or slap/snap brake setting. If youre a driver that tends to just slap at the brake trigger, this setting will have a huge affect on your brake setup. Think of the Active Brake setting as a brake strength multiplier of of sorts. Default is 3 and pretty strong. So if you go from 0 push brake to 75% or more, the multiplier is engaged and will increase the initial brake hit to the car. If you slide or are gradual into you brakes Active Brake will not be induced. If you talk or watch to the pros, theyre not slapping the brake unless they need to snap the front of the card down over a jump. For example my 2wd mod buggy running an 8.5 has the brake settings of Brake Strength at 85, Drag Brake at 5, Active Brake at 0. Comparatively my 2wd Mod SC truck has Brake Strength of 90, Drag Brake of 0, and Active Brake 1. The 2wd SC truck needs more brake snap to bring the front end down over the larger jumps. Overall think of it this way: Brake strength is the overall power. Drag Brake is well Drag Brake ;) Active Brake increases the Brake Strength power under conditions where you slap or panic brake the car. So try adjusting these settings to improve your braking abilities. Top pro guys are all about smooth yet powerful brakes. So expand your settings past the simple Epa reduction on your transmitter and find those missing tenths of a second!
