(Tissue alert!...you have been warned!) Today would been our 24th Wedding Anniversary. It was an honor and a privilege to be her Husband. She made me a better Man. It hurts like hell that she is gone and I miss her with every fiber of my being. Yet I would not have loved her any less just so that I wouldn’t be in such pain now. With a love as deep rooted as ours, I believe that I will always miss her. There were days I did not want to go to work because I did not want to be apart. It was not until after Donna had died that I realized why I joined the Military, of course many of you remember that she was married to a Marine first. It was not so that I could serve my country or Honor, Courage and Commitment, it was so that she would have the opportunity to touch so many lives. She made everything easy, her Dad was career Army, and so she knew what she was getting into marrying a Marine. Because of her I was able to make a career in the Navy. No matter how many times we moved, and trust me there were a lot sometimes 3 or 4 per duty station, she always made it our home. Donna I will always Love you! You were my soulmate, best friend and now you are my guardian angel.
