Tito Rabat topped Fridays practice for the Italian Moto2 GP for Zircotecs partners Marc VDS Racing. Combined times placed Rabat and his Zircotec equipped machine top of the times as teammate Mika Kallio once again will be coming from behind in tomorrows Qualifying for the GP. Rain hit the final session and having set his fastest times earlier in the day Rabat saw no point in taking risks with Qualifying and the race still to come. That left Randy Krummenacher to take the fastest time in the final session with a time that was a full 17 seconds down on Rabats time set in dry conditions. Kallio had intended to try out some changed he and the team had made to the chassis in the final session to overcome difficulties in changing direction quickly. The Kalex machine was proving difficult to hustle through the chicane so the team speeded up the geometry a little. Unfortunately the rain meant they could not improve on the times from earlier so Mikas side of the garage finished the day a little disappointed especially after winning the previous two GPs. There is still another practice session to go tomorrow morning before Qualifying begins mid-afternoon so time yet to improve Mikas times. Meanwhile the teams Moto3 rider Livio Loi was struggling down in 28th in his class. The team are working hard overnight making quite radical changes to the machine in order to improve the feel in time for final practice first thing in the morning at 8am (UK time)and then Qualifying which will be a couple of hours later at 11-30. All the action can be seen on BT Sport live.
