To All my Friends in FB land, who dont know - this is what I have. Its called a laryngectomy. I was diagnosed with vocal chord cancer, 4 years after quitting, it was caught in the very early stages, 95% cure with radiation. I was part of the 5%, it was back in 2 months. This was my only option to stay alive. I speak through a prosthesis, like this guy Sawn in the video. Only place I get oxygen is through the hole in my neck ( which is covered by a filter, which is also part of the speaking process. I cant even blow out a match.( pyromaniac? ) jk But seriously I can not smell, unless I go into a dispensary - then, Im about knocked over. Hard to believe how much your smell helps with cooking, but I can cut onions now, and not cry, amazing !they say it really takes 5 years to totally heal. Im 1&1/2 Years out if surgery , and doin Pretty DAMN Good ! Im now 1% of the 1%. ,
