To, Ban Ki Moon The Secretary General United Nations - TopicsExpress

To, Ban Ki Moon The Secretary General United Nations Organisation 760, United Nations Plaza New York United States. Respected, On 3rd July 2013, in a coup led by General Abdul Fatah Al-Sisi, Egypt’s first democratically elected President Mohamed Morsi was deposed and put under house arrest. The Egyptian constitution was suspended. Millions of Egyptian citizens are protesting against this injustice. It was a sad trajectory of events in which the Egyptian army – instead of mending its ways, returning to barracks, and reinstating the civilian government – attacked millions of peaceful protestors on 14th August 2013. The attack comprised the use of armoured vehicles, bulldozers, tear gas and live-ammunitions. Protestors’ camps were burnt and protesting people were killed and maimed at will. Snipers fired upon those who tried to flee the camps. Even journalists, belonging to different countries, were beaten, arrested and killed. Though authorities insist that death toll is ‘only’ 638, independent observers are giving the figures of around 5,000 including scores of women and children. The struggle is still going on and so are the casualties. I, on behalf of just and peace-loving human beings throughout the globe, condemn in strongest possible terms the brazenness of Egyptian army in massacring the citizens it must have protected. I, on behalf of citizens of this planet, also condemn in strongest possible term the hypocrisy of those nation states that are overtly or covertly supporting the coup and massacres that followed. In this regard, I call upon UNO and especially the Security Council to: 1. explicitly declare events of 3rd July 2013 in Egypt as a coup; 2. force member countries not to provide aid to the Egypt’s military regime under any pretext; 3. impose severe economic sanctions on Egypt’s military regime; and 4. call upon the military junta to stop killing the civilians and to immediately reinstate Mohamed Morsi – the legitimate President of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Thanking you. Sincerely, Saheb-e-Alam Ansari For information and/or necessary action: 1.
