To: Everyone From: Hallsville Police Department Ref: School Zones This is a friendly reminder from the Hallsville Police Department that school begins on Monday August 25th, 2014. There will be A LOT of people in and around the schools due to everyone wanting to drop off their children on the first day. Some of the schools have new routes so that will cause some delays as people try to learn and adjust to them. The HPD is asking for extra patience and courtesy during the first week of school so that no one has a completely frustrating day or week. The school zones have not changed in the last couple of years so there are no changes to them. There IS a school zone in and around Willow, Country Club, Walnut, Green, Oak and School. There IS a school for our baby bobcats in this area. Also, be advised that all the school zones are 9 hour school zones except the ones on Hwy 80 and FM 450. That means that they are active all day from 7am till 4pm. That includes the lunch hours. The attached video is from the Victoria Police Department and yes, those are actual officers, the actual judge and the actual Chief of Police. They have a very creative officer that stars in this video and put the entire thing together. The HPD thanks the Victoria Police Department for allowing us to use this video and the others to help disseminate these important messages.
