To: Facebook Management, Jewish Community We wish to thank the management and staff of Facebook for having deleted over 50 abusive, harassing and slanderous personal comments in the last 72 hours on the so-called JIDF - Jewish Internet Defense Force page. In addition, we thank Facebook for suspending the administrator and his fake profiles. The administrator of the so-called JIDF which goes by the banned Facebook alias of "David Appletree" has been banned by Wikipedia and is now again suspended here on Facebook. He states that he "advocates" for Israel. Yet, he has no professional experience nor support by Israeli governmental and Jewish non-profit organizations. In fact, he is not Israeli, he has never served in the Israel Defense Forces yet he attacks leaders in the Israeli government, the Jewish community, well respected Jewish and Christian organizations and members of the IDF and Israeli police. We kindly request the Jewish community on Facebook to condemn these acts of Lashon Hara (slander / personal attacks / hate speech) against Israelis, Jews and Christians by UNLIKING their membership on the JIDF Facebook page and requesting Facebook to close the JIDF page. You should also be warned that many of the links found on the JIDF Facebook page contain computer viruses and malware. We urge the Jewish community on Facebook to continue its critical support of the real Jewish Internet Defense Force which is the Israel Defense Force (IDF). The IDF has dozens of soldiers online protecting Jews in Israel and abroad 24/7. https://facebook/idfonline If you ever see a personal attack on Facebook, please contact Facebook without delay.
