To Grant Hodges, GOP candidate Dist 96 Mr. Hodges - I just had - TopicsExpress

To Grant Hodges, GOP candidate Dist 96 Mr. Hodges - I just had a very pleasant phone conversation with you - at last. You didnt respond to my first call nor my first email. True, I have many problems with GOP policies and positions. However, I am not a registered democrat nor republican or any other party. I find it curious you would examine my Facebook page and know I live in Lost Bridge Village. A tad creepy. We actually DID speak before. I was at the debate in Gateway, and asked about your SWEPCO donation. I am sure you are not for SWEPCO. They, however, are clearly for you. As are numerous other big business concerns and their PAC money much if it from outside the state. That concerns me. You havent lived in this district very long. That concerns me. You are only 24 years old. And your response: I think my age gives me an energy and perspective that is sorely lacking in Little Rock, sounds like an unqualified job applicant who tells the interviewer, Im a PEOPLE person! Without a family, a career, a profession or even a real job, you lack the life experience of a Tom McClure. You cant possibly understand what it means to be 60 years old. To worry about Medicare, Social Security, and other programs Republicans want to privatize (i.e. do away with). In particular, your pledge to vote against expanding Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act stands to leave thousands of Arkansans with no health insurance. You being young (24) and healthy, you cant understand the dread. You cant sympathize with the families of those who may die for lack of coverage. To you, its a conservative dollars and cents issue. To us, its its life and death. You seem like a capable, intelligent young man. But you clearly dont represent the average life of the average voter in this district. Tom McClure does. And REPUBLICANS have told me so. I understand you have ambitions. The rest of just want to survive with good health with what time we have left. As I mentioned, you are funded largely by PAC money, some from outside our state. Heres the list. sos.arkansas.gov/filing_search/index.php/filing/save_pdf/161839 Understand, I dont object to you personally. I object to the idea of State legislatures bought and paid for by the likes of The Koch Brothers and others like them, which you personify. I wish you well in your future in politics - but for all our sakes, not in Little Rock.
