To Lodge Park Academy in Corby to talk to the Year 12s - thanks for having me, Liz and Mark and students, I enjoyed it and your questions were excellent. When I arrived to sign in I was handed a laminated sheet to read of dos and donts in the interests, largely, of safeguarding; one of them obliged me to promise I would not promote any religious or political views. I think I broke this promise. I spoke about the Churchs role in providing for the needs of the neglected elderly, something we do remarkably well and should promote till were blue in the face. So mea culpa, I guess, but it did leave me wondering if I really am as alarming as Isis or the EDL.
