To My High School Graduating Class of 2008: I know you don’t - TopicsExpress

To My High School Graduating Class of 2008: I know you don’t care about my Facebook statuses… To My High School Graduating Class of 2008: My high school guidance counselor told me that, with my grades, GPA and class rank, that I was considered the average student in our grade. And what is your average student doing nowadays? In a few days, I will be entering my 6th year in college and still aiming to earn my Bachelor’s Degree. Either if we have a 5-year reunion or not, all I can think of when I hear rumors of a reunion is where the hell did all of our 5 years after graduation go? Being either 22, 23 or 24 years old, some of us have graduated from college, some of us are still in school, and some of us are in the work force or looking for work. And we have the select few that are married and/or have children. And other crazy shit… I was just wondering if any of you are where you thought you were going to be in 5 years when we were cheering at Cal Football games, enjoying trips to Italy for Interim and being the one person who didn’t get caught for smoking Cuban cigars, and attending a choir concert or two (almost forgetting that I did choir for 4 years). I am not ashamed to be our average student when I wanted to be our class Valedictorian (and all it took was Mr. Oster’s Math 1 & 2 course Freshman year to destroy my dreams). I am just happy that I am still aiming to follow my dreams and finish school with the support of my family and friends. And as long as I make more money than our high school teachers when I do have a career, then I will be one happy fellow. I hope some of you are living the dream and the rest of you are still continuing to capture that dream. And I guess when you are part of a grade that was a part of 2 state championships, I guess anything is possible. To My High School Graduating Class of 2008: Hope all is well -Ishie
