The performance was excellent and attracted a large audience over the 2-day run in the McIntyre Auditorium at ECC. The box office receipts and concessions generated more than $1,500 for the drama department to use for future productions. Many thanks to everyone who played a role in this successful student activity! IMPORTANT REMINDER: INCLEMENT WEATHER PROCEDURES Everyone should monitor local weather reports, especially during the winter. When severe weather happens, NECP may have to delay opening, dismiss early, or close for the entire day. Parents should keep their contact information current and have a back-up plan for childcare and transportation. NECP announces schedule changes as soon as possible, by e-blast, website posting, and local TV stations (Channels, 5, 7, 9,11 and 12). Remember: NECP is a charter school and is not part of any county school system. NECP will be listed separately and schedules may differ from the surrounding school systems. NOTE: Please, do not call the school in these situations. Phone lines must be open for other communications. School personnel may not be available for phone calls or email when school is closed. JEANS ON FRIDAYS ~ $1 for a limited dress-down opportunity each Friday! By special request, a favorite fundraising activity began on Friday, November 21. All students may purchase a Dress Code Pass for $1 from the homeroom teacher that will allow you to wear appropriate jeans for the day. We hope everyone will enjoy this change and remember that all other dress code standards apply as described in the Student Handbook. When choosing jeans for Fridays, students should remember, they must pay for the pass each week and NECP does not allow: o Cargo pants with leg pockets or skirts with an excessive number of pockets o Baggy, sagging, oversized pants or visible underwear o Form-fitting, extremely tight, or revealing clothing items o Clothing that is excessively frayed, torn, soiled, or stained HUSKY CAFÉ ~ Dining with Kindergarten – Grade 5 students Parents/guardians of elementary students are welcome to join their children for lunch by making arrangements with the classroom teacher. We ask parents to understand that lunch periods are carefully timed and dining space is limited with 650+ children rotating through during the elementary lunch periods. The children must have priority seating. By arranging your visit in advance, we can make sure you have a place to eat with your child and his/her classmates. Thank you! Menus are posted on the NECP Website: necprepschool To find weekly menus and other information, look under Quick Links – MENUS on the home page. WINTER ATHLETICS ~ Register to receive text messages about team information The winter schedule is available on the NECP website on the Athletics tab on the homepage. To receive instant text notification of all schedule changes, go to the Athletics tab and sign into Schedule Star to develop a personal account. All team information and game scores are posted here. SUSPENSION ALTERNATIVE ~ announcing a limited Saturday School Option As of November 17, NECP administrators added a new option for students who violate school rules. In place of suspension for some offences, a limited number of students will be offered the option of attending Saturday School from 9–11 am. Parents will be notified and must provide transportation. Saturday School students will work on class assignments in a controlled setting managed by administrators and selected teachers. FACULTY/CLASS WEBPAGES ~ Where are they? Teacher webpages can be found in four ways: 1) Under the Quick Link tab for Faculty/Staff by clicking your grade level group near the top of the page; 2) On the Faculty/Staff page by clicking the link next to the grade level listing of teachers; 3) On the Parent tab by clicking on the grade level; or 4) On the Student tab by clicking the grade level. This change allows you more ways to find your teacher or class information and streamlines our editing process to sync the info in all locations. Thank you!
