To PRESIDENT OBAMA : I respectfully ask that you dismiss Secretary Arne Duncan from his duties as the top EDUCATION official in the United States. His lack of oversight has led to the following disclaimer on the DOE WEBSITE. Disclaimer — These materials were developed by federal grantees and agencies in commemoration of the tenth anniversary of September 11, 2001. The materials are provided as a convenience for teachers and others seeking resources for teaching about September 11. ED does not control or guarantee the accuracy, relevance, timeliness, or completeness of these materials, nor does the inclusion of links to these materials represent an endorsement of these materials or organizations that created them. As a taxpayer, a teacher, and most importantly as a mother, I am appalled that the DOE would submit ANY materials or links online related to the SACRED events of September 11, 2001, without fully investigating and verifying materials and their sources. The disclaimer specifically states that the sources are grantees and agencies of the Federal Government and therefore would need to meet the requirements of the Department of Education. Enough is enough MR. PRESIDENT. This country deserves better and you sir have the power to see to it that this outrageous assault, on the very event that keeps us together as a country, will be addressed immediately. I am not asking for a mere correction to the web site or for any action against the person or persons who may have made this error on the web site (they like me are simply employees). Mr Duncan has come under attack for many issues in this country but this is the final straw. You MUST take immediate action. Secretary Duncans removal is the only acceptable course of action. I plan to distribute my message widely so that other AMERICANS will join me in my request.
