To People, Huffington Post, NBC and the Daily News… Dear editor: Your recent article, Sound the Alarm, featuring FDNY firefighters is inaccurate. Danae Mines is not the first to be featured, I was in 1997. My name is Patricia Fitzpatrick and I have attached pictures taken at the shoot for the calendar at the academy in 1996. I did not receive any fan fare. The firefighter sharing the month of November was not pleased to be pictured with me and so they placed his higher on the page. I also enclosed a beefcake shot that they did not use and I can show you the calendar upon request. As a result, Im publishing a calendar of just women firefighters. I also attached a present photo. I would appreciate a correction and an apology. The United Women Firefighters ought to keep an archive of what the first class of women firefighters accomplished during our tour of duty which began in 1982. The first to get promoted, Rochele Jones. The first to work in a truck, Cecilia Salters. First to work squad, Cecilia Thompson. I can go on with the list….please correct.
