To Sri Rajnath Singh ji National President Bharatiya Janata - TopicsExpress

To Sri Rajnath Singh ji National President Bharatiya Janata Party New Delhi. In continuation to my letter dated 05/10/2013, I would like bring the following points for your perusal. The mischievous and dirty politics played by the Congress during bifurcation of the State of Andhra Pradesh into Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is thoroughly exposed. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is also equally culprit in vitiating the socio-political atmosphere in the State. The impression across the society is that the Telugu Desam Party leader N Chandrababu Naidu had come close to the Bharatiya Janata Party with an intention to stall the bifurcation of the State. While BJP was unequivocally supporting the bifurcation of the State, Chandrababu Naidu resorted to extreme steps to stop the process. Through his gobble’s campaign attempted to malign the image of the BJP giving an impression that the BJP is also covertly supporting his attempts. The Telugu Desam Party had immensely lost its support base and vote percentage in Telangana districts and to a considerable amount in and around Grater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits. In the process, several TDP leaders including its members of Legislature have deserted the party and explored their fortune in other political parties. Most of the TDP leaders, who are averse to join the Congress party as they were inimical to it, found an alternative in BJP. In a desperate bid to stop the exodus of TDP leadership to BJP, Chandrababu Naidu, in his habitual style, resorted to false campaign that a poll pact was on the verge of finalization with the BJP and their efforts to join BJP would not yield expected results. The fictitious campaign by Chandrababu Naidu and his henchmen in a section of electronic and print media created an utter confusion in the rank and files of both TDP and BJP. I may bring to your notice that more than 80 per cent of the BJP cadre in the GHMC limits and almost all in the remaining Telangana districts are opposed to any kind of secret or open poll understanding with the Telugu Desam Party. The BJP leaders and cadre are highly apprehensive that the party may lose heavily with the TDP tag. Against the popular mood of the party and the cadre, handful of leaders in the BJP is supporting the poll understanding with the TDP for various considerations. It is the universal truth that the BJP could not grow in Andhra Pradesh because of its alliance with the TDP 30 years ago and the cadres argue that any kind of association with the TDP would damage the BJP’s prospects for the coming 30 years. Irrespective of geographical limitations -- both rural and urban voters, who are primarily non-BJP supporters -- are coming forward to support Sri Narendra Modi as Prime Minister. Various surveys conducted by several reputed organizations suggest that nearly 15 to 20 per cent of neutral voters have decided to vote for Sri Narendra Modi. Such neutral voter may defer their decision. in case of any alliance with the TDP as Naidu has lost his credibility in the newly formed State. A latest NDTV survey also shows that the vote share for TDP was eight (8) per cent whereas the BJP’s support base is more than 15 per cent. Distressed Chandrababu Naidu, attempting to consolidate and secure his party’s vote share, is desperate to forge an alliance with the BJP. It may be recalled that Naidu approaches the BJP whenever his in trouble. He ruthlessly discards the BJP immediately after his purpose is served. Any poll understanding with the TDP at this juncture would cause heavy loss to the BJP. Besides eradicating the BJP support base, it would also force the electorate to lose faith and confidence in BJP forever. One need not surprise if the TDP gains 15 per cent vote share and the BJP may be reduced to mere 8 per cent vote share, reversing the survey results of the NDTV in case of an alliance between the two parties. Any kind of poll understating with the TDP would definitely hamper the prospects of Sri Narendra Modi as Prime Minister besides obstructing the winning chances of legislature candidates. Thus, I request the National leadership to think twice before moving further with regard to forging an alliance with the TDP. I am sure that good senses will prevail upon the national leadership and take decisions in consolidating, strengthening and expanding the BJP base both in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States.
