To The Extreme of Shock Its really shocking. Im just reading Nawakwis statement in the PFost. It is totally devoid of any technical merit and filled with emotions. She is quoted as saying reports that Chikwanda wanted to pay mining companies a disputed US$600 million were extremely disturbing but lamentably fails to explain why it is distubing as the monies are rightfully due and payable to the mines in accordance with the laws of the land. The issue here is one of timing and not entitlement. Once the mines discharge their burden of proof of export under Rule 18 of the VAT (General) Rules, its time to pay. Simple as that! There is no need for her to get emotional and start saying what have we done to God to deserve all this. Well I can tell you and Im not even God. We deserve this because we borrowed interest free from the mines, by force, and that debt has balooned to extranomical amounts and its now time to pay back what does not belong to Ceasar. To think Edith was a former Minister of Finance...now that is extremely shocking and disturbing!!!
