To The Left Unemployment took another dive and is now down to 5.9%. Expectations were that it would remain at 6.1%. This was partly due to jobs increasing more than 10% above projections and July and August employment figures being being revised up by 69,000 new jobs. This improvement should be helpful for Democratic candidates in close races. Republicans will attempt to spin the figures in a negative direction but will find that is getting harder for them to do and be taken serious. Especially as the President has already note that too many new jobs are at a lower salary. For people seeking a job for months, a lower salary is better than none at all.
