To Work or (rather) Accept?? Good Afternoon NFF & Fb. Praise the Lord! Interesting topic for you this afternoon! There is so much debate about Law & Grace among the people of God these days, which do you prefer to believe? The Law (of Moses) was given to the Jews, (not the Gentiles) yet it gave an awareness of Sin (our Schoolmaster) but man could not keep the whole Law which in turn was prepatorial for us to receive Gods Grace through His son Jesus Christ the Free Gift to the World! (Eph. 2;8-10) In other words mans work was not cutting it (so to speak) for us to have a righteous standing with God the Father! God sent His Son to FULFILL the Law all wrapped up in GRACE!!! Nothing man could do to deserve it, just came out of LOVE of God for mankind! Salvation is a Free Gift, you dont have to WORK IT, but rather ACCEPT HIM as your personal LORD & Savior!God give your people a REVELATION of Your Sons last utterances on the Cross of Calvary, IT IS FINISHED! Yes, the Work, past, presence & future is already done through Christ our Lord! Herein lies the dilemma among Christians today! If you choose to remain under the Law you may find yourself asking for what has already been done in Christ, not to mention all of the self efforts to save oneself, mixed with politics, manipulations, & abuse, & control (Rom. 6:14) or you can choose to accept the Grace of God knowing the work has already been performed by the finished work of Christ, & live a life of freedom & abundancy (John 10:10, John 14:6, ) yet, if not properly taught & understood could lead to lasciviousness! Grace is not a LISCENSE to SIN! Think this is what the Apostle Paul was trying to convey In II Cor. 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW CREATION, the OLD HAS GONE, the NEW HAS COME. (read through verse 21 NIV) What about Jesus remark in St. Matthew 9:16,17 NIV) Could it be HE was relating to Law & Grace here? NO one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garmentfor the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse . Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No they pour new wine into new wineskins and BOTH ARE PRESERVED! Well, could go on and this is lengthy, but me personally, I choose the GRACE OF GOD over the LAW! Dont want to spend the rest of my life down here asking for what is already MINE IN CHRIST! Christ paid it All Family! God bless you! Q,insp
