To address the big pink elephant in the room.... Splash Bar will always have a special place in my heart as this was the venue that started it all for me. I remember being denied entry when I was 17 y/o when I tried to get in my first gay club ever. I was upset but I remember saying to myself "one day I will return here and things will be VERY different when I do." Little did I know that meant that I would be building one of the biggest, most successful parties in NYC Gay Nightlife, Campus Thursdays, with Alan Picus in 2006. I left Splash in 2010 after a successful and very happy 4 year run. I then returned once more in 2012 to put together a series of very successful events with Nathan Kelly that saw the likes of Icona Pop, Mika Newton, Emii, Sak Noel and others come through the doors. Splash will always remain one of my favorite venues growing up both personally and professionally. I Splash and everyone I worked with there including Dougie Meyer, Justin Luke, Greg Jones and the list goes on and on. Let this be a reminder that as one door closes, another opens. -Love, CR
